 my background

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in New Jersey. I have been working for over a decade with adolescents, emerging adults, and adults in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient hospitals, outpatient mental health clinics, and university counseling centers. Prior to opening my practice, I worked as a staff psychologist in Fordham University’s counseling center, where I also completed my pre-doctoral internship. As the lead clinical liaison to Fordham's Division I Athletics department, I have expertise in working with elite athletes with a variety of mental health and performance-related concerns.

My Approach

 my approach

I am a warm, nonjudgmental, and curious therapist. My training as a generalist allows me to use a flexible therapeutic approach to address a range of concerns. Research has shown that the most important factor in therapy’s effectiveness is the relationship between client and therapist, so I always use a collaborative approach and emphasize developing a rapport with my clients. Within this relational framework, I integrate psychodynamic, cognitive–behavioral, and mindfulness–based approaches to tailor treatment to each individual.

SERVICES

individual therapy

In individual therapy, I foster an environment of safety, non-judgment, and self-acceptance. With shared curiosity, we will explore your present and past experiences and develop an understanding of your inner emotional world as it relates to your thinking patterns and external behaviors. I will walk alongside you as you come into contact with painful, unwanted parts of yourself and your life experience, in an effort to create space for change. I balance an insight–oriented approach to healing with identifying concrete strategies to alleviate suffering. Depending on the nature of your concerns and your wishes, therapy can be short-term or open-ended.

group therapy

Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to learn about yourself and how you relate to others. With the support of the group and therapist, you can receive feedback and develop more adaptive ways of relating with others.

workshops

I am available for workshops and trainings about a range of mental health related topics. I have experience providing mental health training to Division I college athletics teams, trainers, and coaches. Please contact me for more information about workshops and trainings.

I offer individual and group supervision for developing professionals working in New York and New Jersey.

clinical supervision

I have extensive experience consulting with friends, family members, and concerned others about seeking support for a loved one. I can offer treatment recommendations and useful strategies to encourage and connect someone with the appropriate treatment.
